Speakers will present an overview of the new National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit implementation and enforcement. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulates the NPDES permit program. Water pollution degrades surface waters making them unsafe for drinking, fishing, swimming, and other activities. As authorized by the Clean Water Act, the NPDES permit program controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into waters of the United States. Industrial, municipal, and other facilities must obtain permits if their discharges go directly to surface waters. This webinar will provide you with information on the permit implementation and enforcement process. Speakers will share knowledge and lessons learned on this vital regulation.
